New Rules for Entering Europe in 2025
• Starting mid-2025, travelers from 60 visa-exempt countries (including the U.S., Canada, and Australia) will be required to obtain an ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) before entering most European countries within the Schengen Area.
• Upon entry into the Schengen Zone, a photo will be taken as part of the biometric data collection process.
• When leaving, travelers will either need to provide their fingerprints or have their photo taken again.
• These changes may result in longer queues at border control, especially as the new system is implemented across Europe.
